Social Interventions on Cognitive Determinants of E-Procurement (EP) Adoption Behavior
- Research Description
This study is designed to elucidate the incidence and effectiveness of social interventions (e.g. peer, mgr., expert) on the cognitive determinants (based on UTAUT) leading towards individual adoption behavior (usage) of E-Procurement (e-tendering and e-ordering systems) in an intra-organizational post-implementation context.
Organizations have invested large sums in EP. When adoption by the internal user community lags behind or requires additional change management effort, business cases can 'evaporate' rapidly. Organizations struggle in identifying effective interventions to raise the usage level in their organization, which is needed to reap the benefits of their EP systems.
Over four decades of (IT) research have yielded various models with high explanatory power of IT adoption. Post-adoptive and prescriptive research is only just being conducted. This research yields prescriptive insights on how to raise adoption.
